Security Groups

Security Groups are a new feature introduced in CaseLocker v0.8.08.

A security group allows you to restrict a group of users to a specific case type(s).

Users in a security group have the following permissions overridden:

  • Contacts: The user’s highest permission can be “Edit”. A user restricted to a security group cannot create new contacts.
  • Cases: The user’s highest permission can be “Edit”. A user restricted to a security group cannot create new cases.

If a contact has multiple case types, only the case types that the Security Group defines will be visible.

To set a user’s security group, edit the user and begin typing the name of the security group you want to apply in the “Security” section of the user editor.

Note: A user with Organization Admin permission overrides their security group restriction.
